How You Can Take action!

Step 1

Ask Your Legislators to Support Fair Districting

Join many other Alabamians and us by contacting your legislator to demand they prioritize us instead of them by drawing fair maps. We made it easy, send your letter in just a few clicks!

Step 2

Submit public comments

Public testimony is critical to the redistricting process as the legislature will take public input into consideration when drawing the lines. Use your voice and submit public comments to Alabama’s Reapportionment Committee today!

Attend Reapportionment Committee Public Hearings and submit testimony

The Legislature’s Reapportionment Committee has held a series of public hearings. During these hearings, the public was able to provide input on the map-drawing process. Public testimony has been extended until early October.

Use your voice to tell your legislators that they work for you. Demand a better Alabama by participating in the upcoming redistricting public hearings or by submitting testimony via email below.

Attend a Virtual Redistricting Town Hall

Alabama’s redistricting public hearings kicked off the first week of September. however, the hearings are held exclusively during weekdays and during working hours. That makes it difficult for everyday working Alabamians to make their voices heard.

In an effort to increase accessibility, AEPN is co-hosting virtual town hall public hearing debriefings every evening at 7 p.m. These briefings are open to anyone who wishes to join regardless of the location of the day’s public hearings.

Contact Your Legislators

Apart from voting, contacting your elected officials is one of the most important tasks you can perform as a citizen. It is the best way to share your opinions and helps influence changes within your local community.

Ask Your Legislators to Support Fair Districting

The decisions legislators make when they draw district lines will affect the next ten years of our lives. District lines determine funds allocated for schools, hospitals, healthcare access, jobs, and other essential services. When lines are drawn to their benefit, communities lose the ability to advocate for their needs

We have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to make sure this doesn’t happen again!

Please join many other Alabamians and us by contacting your legislator TODAY to demand they prioritize us instead of them by drawing FAIR maps.

Mail a Letter To your legislators

Our organization has drafted a sample letter you can print to mail to your legislator(s) of choice. When you download it, make sure to fill out the necessary information to get the best chance of response.

Once you download the letter and print it, find your legislator(s) and mail your letter!
